Toddler Harness

This can be very useful when your toddler wants to walk around, but you don't want them running off! Start by tightening the tail a little bit to remove much of the "pocket". Then, slip the pocket of the sling over your child so that the rings are on their back. Pull on the tail, behind the rings to make it snug and spread the fabric out some in the front to make it comfortable for him/her. Now they have the freedom to walk but you still have some control over how far or where they are able to go.

You can also use a variation of this harness-style position to secure your child in a shopping cart or restaurant high chair. Sometimes the buckles of the cart are dirty, missing or broken, and this may even be a more comfortable strap. Just thread the sling between the rungs (or around the back) of the child seat of the cart/high chair and then around your child's upper chest. Spread the fabric enough on his/her chest to be comfortable and tighten to secure him/her. You can even take the tail of the sling and fold it up and tuck it behind your child's back to create some padding in what is probably not the most comfortable seat. As with any shopping cart or highchair restraint, do NOT leave your child unattended in this position.
